Supporting Young Readers in Our Community
At HCI, giving back to our local community is something we're truly passionate about. We're especially proud of our partnership with the local primary school. Each week, Helen has been volunteering at the school, listening to children read and helping to build confidence, strengthen literacy skills and encourage a lifelong love of books. After the school holidays, we're looking forward to having more members of the HCI team get involved.
To further support the school, HCI recently donated funds to purchase new books. We hope these new resources will inspire young readers, spark their imaginations and provide even more opportunities to develop their reading skills while discovering the joy that books can bring.
Receiving a heartfelt thank-you card from the children made the experience even more special. Their thoughtful message was a wonderful reminder of the meaningful difference that even a small act of kindness and giving back can make.
"Thank you for listening to us read this year. We have enjoyed reading to you."

Those simple words meant a great deal to our team and perfectly captured the positive impact of this partnership. Seeing the children's confidence grow and knowing we've played a small part in encouraging their love of reading has been incredibly rewarding.
A Word from Helen
Volunteering at the school my children once attended is incredibly rewarding. It's always a pleasure to go back and spend time listening to the children read. One of the most enjoyable parts is seeing the progress they make throughout the year as their confidence and reading skills grow, and watching them move on to the next reading levels. I’m already looking forward to returning in September to meet and support the new Year 3 children on their reading journey.
Looking Ahead
At HCI, we believe that making a positive impact extends beyond the workplace. Whether we’re helping our clients plan for the future or supporting local communities that encourage learning and personal development, we’re committed to making a meaningful difference.
We would like to thank the pupils, teachers and staff for welcoming our volunteers throughout the year, and we look forward to continuing to support this fantastic project in the future.
